Suri likes the ladybugs

Every once in awhile, good things come out of watching Oprah. Recently, there was Tom Cruise mania on Oprah's show when she visited him in Telluride, Colorado at his gigantic snow palace in the sky. Despite having to watch the awkward exchange between Tom and Katie as she said goodbye, it was worth catching the show.

Why?

A Colorado, woman-owned company received some much-deserved camera time. Tom Cruise showed off some great ladybug shoes that his daughter Suri wears. The shoes were sold at Skimbaco, a company based in Durango, Colorado and owned by the ever-lovely Katja. I met Katja many moons ago on one of the blog-until-you-drop sites, NaBloPoMo and Blog365. I dig her for many reasons. She has a great business, a great blog, and she's Finnish. Okay, maybe the Finnish part won me over first. I am half Finnish because of my mom's side of the family.

So, can good come out of the TomKat fiasco? Apparently so. Can something positive occur after a psychotic couch-jumping fiesta? Aye aye, cap'n crazy. Can suffering through a video where Tom puts his ethics on you warrant any merit?

You bet your boots. Or your ladybug shoes.

Poor Suri. She may have crazy 'rents, but at least she's sporting her neuroses in style. And she is a gorgeous child.

What was the awkward exchange between Tom and Katie?

I am SO GLAD I work and my TIVO refuses to record Oprah. And as for TC and his morals/ethics/religion - a waste of space and an unnecessary bubble in the gene pool. Like somebody farted in the water.

Hmmm, maybe all those ethics are working. Suri is wearing fancy shoes, and we can't even get Amos to keep his socks on. Maybe his e-meter reading needs to be studied more carefully.

How damn cute are those shoes!!?! And what a stunning link!

I wonder how many hits she'll have now that TC has mentioned her?! I watched part of the show...but got irritated with Tom's lack of answers to her questions...and that she let him get away with it. He said a whole lotta nuthin.

OH...and my girls refused to wear shoes and socks for the longest time. My youngest was born in December and would scream bloody murder if you put socks on her. I have great pictures of her right before she turned one...on Santa's lap, with her bare feet. Cute. But I had so many little old ladies coming up to me to tell me how I needed to cover her up!

makes me wish for a girl ... I don't think Alex would go for ladybug shoes :)

Amanda - The awkward exchange involved a kiss and hug goodbye. Katie was taking the kids to town so that Oprah and Tom could be alone. Her entire demeanor was robotic and disengaged. I guess that's how he liked his ladies.

LceeL - Indeed.

Phil "is a friend to bugs" - If we hook up Amos to an e-meter, will he spill the beans on our poor parenting skills? According to Scientology, we aren't supposed to say no to Amos.

Jenty - The shoes are indeed quite lovely. Skimbaco rocks!

Kat - I hope Katja can ride this wave of fame as long as possible.
Amos is making us look like shameful parents with his bare feet.

Eve - Wise move. Although, if you have any gifty things you need, Skimbaco is pretty darn cool.

dawn224 - Haha. Amos sometimes sucks on a pink binky. I guess he's only a step away from wearing ladybug shoes.
