While Andy takes my baby away for a tour of the house, I am writing to you from the lovely home of my friends Allison and Andy in Austin. Yes, Amos n' Andy are together again. Har har har.
Sorry to disappoint, but I am on my way home. I will likely fly to Denver tomorrow. Things just became... too much. My dad will either pull out of this or not. There is nothing I can do to sway the scales.
It was a hard decision, but several outside family members, my love Phil, and friends have stepped up to say, "Sarah, enough. You don't need to kill yourself, too." Well, then. Okay. It's nice to have someone else making the decisions for a bit.
So, home for Amos and me. Today, I will relax in Austin, drink coffee, admire Allison's gardens, and breathe without worrying who it affects around me. Normal will be found again. I'm sure I'll be back soon, either to help with my dad or to bury him. Life is strange.
So, Chuy's, perhaps I will eat you today. Maybe I will scarf another bite of Taco Cabana. Whatever. As long as I keep seeing that smile on Amos' face, I know I'm doing the right thing.

The eyes of Texans are seeing my backside

7 beautiful people muttered something back:
Sometimes you just have to take care of yourself and your little one. You are no good to anyone if you become so run down/discouraged that you can no longer function. And Amos has to come first on your list of people you are responsible to care for. Once you are rested physically, emotionally, and any other way you will be able to give again should the need be there. Good luck to you. Enjoy your day. Be sure to hug Phil really hard when you get home - I find that to be very restorative.
Sometimes you have to take care of yourself.
Also, if you're wearing yourself out, then your dad'll be worrying about you instead of getting better. I'm sure he understands, and wants you to take care of you. At least, that's how the dads I know are :)
Take care of your self when you get home. Make sure you have a couple of relaxing days.
The problem with Texas is that it's so big it creates extra gravity and becomes difficult to escape.
So glad you're getting home to Phil. I'm sure he will show you great appreciation for your company, and I bet you could use that.
If you have a bite at Chuy's, I'll be jealous, but happy for you. Mmmm, creamy jalapeno dip.
Yes, you need to be home. With Phil. With Amos. After all, Amos is what it's all about. Those of us that have been here first, those of us that are old and used up, have done all that we have done for those who are to be next. Amos is next.
I just read your next post. Tell me to shut my mouth.
