Months 6 and 7

Dear Amos,

Mommy has been a bad, bad girl. I missed posting your 6 month birthday (six whole months!). I'm sorry that I was slack in updating you on your progress, but you must understand that December was a big month for you. It was your first Christmas EVER! Your parents had a great deal of stuff to do... I mean, Santa and the elves had a lot to do... for that big event. I'm sure you can forgive me. I forgive you for breaking my glasses.

Three days ago, you turned 7 months. You are no longer the floppy, googly-eyed, alienesque peanut we brought home in June. You have personality! And charm! And a budding sense of humor! There is entirely too much to update on you, so I am going to tackle this in outline fashion accompanied with a flurry of pics. Your public has demanded new pics of you, and who am I to not oblige your fans?

(If it runs a bit slow for you or not at all, please click on "View All Images" and it should work. There are four other big slideshows there for you to gawk at, if you are so inclined.)

You are:

  • rolling like a pro
  • moving a few feet by going backwards while on your belly
  • pushing up like a champ while on your belly
  • learning to crawl, ever so slowly
  • suddenly sitting up, unbeknownst to us
  • rockin' tons of hair!
  • playing with toys so much more
  • insane for peekaboo
  • eating cereal and veg for the first time
  • making new, crazy sounds
  • staring at people A LOT and making them a bit uneasy with your dissection of them
  • best friends with Wilbur (and pulling out clumps of BFF's fur)
  • guilty of breaking my glasses (boo!)

You had your first:

I look forward to seeing you grow more, my boy. But please don't grow up too quickly. It's going too fast already.

Love,
Mama

And you had your first sled ride! Your mom and I had lots of fun running up and down the street pulling your snow wagon. You were...um...disinterested. (And you didn't try to hijack another sled or whip out a pistol to shoot at the neighbors, so the Grand Theft Auto hasn't ruined you yet.)

Maybe we should let him play Tetris to balance out the evil and killing of hookers.

Ah, as I read this post, I remembered back to my first few months as a new mom and how tired I was... But, now that she's 6, I miss those days. BTW, I couldn't get enough of having just one child, I had to have 2 more (a boy and another girl). Keep enjoying his "babydom". He is a cutie.

He is just the cutest thing EVER! Happy birthday!

joyce-anne - Thank ya! It IS tiring... but oh so worth it. I'm not sure my uterus agrees with popping out another kid just yet. It is still angry with me about the natural birth. heheh.

Amy - Thank ya! I'm a bit partial, but indeed, I find him to be the cutest creature ever.

Yay for sled ride pics! I think Amos was enjoying it, just pretending not to - so that you would try harder (pull faster, Mama!) to please him.

There is one pic on your show where poor Phil looks like he hasn't eaten or slept in 7 years. Amos was wide awake and very proud of himself! haha!

He is such an adorable little ham. I love the photo of his angry face with the balled up fists. I still see that face every day, and it's still cute. Darn kids.

Oh my gosh, the more I see, the more I know you have possibly the cutest baby ever! (I have to reserve judgement that mine were the cutest, right?)

Shartlesville-been through many a time on my way to NY or back to Maryland. (Not too far from Christmas Village, did you venture over there?)

I love the slide shows!

I love those chubby cheeks, he's soo cute.

Has he made his first word?

Your child is beautiful. He has the most angelic face when he smiles. A little boy may not like these compliments but it's just the truth. Loved all the pictures!

What a handsome young man. Treasure every moment and continue taking lots and lots of pictures. They help keep memories fresh. Besides, you're bound to take at least one or two, even if by accident, that you will find suitable for blackmail, later.
